I began sculpting
in 1998 after a powerful dream in which I was told I would be instructed
in the art of sculpture. I was a nurse at the time with no plans or
desire to pursue a career in Art. However, the power of the dream convinced
me to try sculpting. I have continued to have dreams and I have continued
sculpting.
In my dreams the
instruction is non-verbal. The communication is in a more complete and
direct form and I “experience and know,” rather than “intellectualize
and understand.” I now strive to incorporate this knowledge and
instruction into my work.
Sculpture is a powerful
form of non-verbal communication. It is form with essence and vibration.
So for me, the form that emerges is related to the vibration or emotional
energy I am feeling at the time of the work. When my work is successful,
this emotional energy or vibration is felt by the viewer. I hope my
work will awaken in you the energy which is divine and without limit.
As a new and outside
artist, I am extremely grateful to my friends and family who have encouraged
and supported me. Thank you for your interest in my work.
